This was a Daddy Daughter trip. Charli and I left Whyalla at 8am and stayed at Mungerannie on Friday night.

Arrived in Birdsville at lunchtime Saturday.

Set up camp then wandered around the show n shine. Later in the afternoon we headed out to Big Red and went about 5 dunes out into the Simpson.

Went back to Big Red for a play.

Back to town and then onto the oval for the auction.

Sunday morning we had another wander around town.

As it had been raining we packed up and made a run for it. Left town at midday and the sign said the Birdsville Track was open to 4WDs only. About 10km into SA we met a group that were covered in mud and they said they had to turn back as the track was impassable.

Back into town for a few hours…. at the pub and oval.

The sun was shining and a light breeze blowing so at 2pm we went back for a second go.

Although slippery and thick mud in some places we made it through to Mungerannie in about 4 hours.

Monday morning we packed up and drove home. Got here at about 5pm.
